Facade areas with natural light access are reserved for teaching and administration. The remaining volume becomes a kind of cave. The school is organized along this volume which, in its development into the depths of the building, absorbs different programs. From the public areas in direct contact with the road (reception hall, smoking area, self-service machines) towards more restricted areas, zoning is established naturally by organizing activities depending on their degree of acoustic emission. The administrative core exercises a filter function between the public area and the teaching area. It includes sanitary and logistic installations to the office and staff rooms so as to facilitate communication between the executive elements and to control access. From here the tunnel widens up and leads to more intimate activities such as reading, studying, resting, and Internet surfing. All classrooms are accessed from here. On the exterior wall, opposite from the entrance, there is an artificial membrane that regulates the relation between inside and outside, rendering service to the classroom: orientation (color), temperature control (AC), fresh air and constant light conditions during all hours of the day (windows and lighting).
